To those who don’t live here, our hearts say, “Oh no.”
Erin:
The golden delight, the nectar of our nation,
Maple syrup cures all,
It’s Canada’s greatest creation.
My favourite place, you wonder?
Oh you wouldn’t know
It’s Lunenburg Nova Scotia!
You look confused – I told you so.
Angus:
Some call me a chip fanatic, but I only want the best
And what’s the best? I’m glad you asked!
It’s Canada’s own All-Dressed!
Now what’s a chip without a place
To enjoy a wonderful snack?
Salt Spring Island is where I’d choose
Someone take me back!
Brianna:
When asked what I like I usually say wine,
But today I’ve changed the story,
I can’t deny I love the freedom,
And the overuse of the word “sorry!”
My favourite place, however,
Well that’s no surprise -
If you, too, are a wine lover,
Then the Okanagan, I must advise!
Micaelee:
Heart attack in a box,
My cheat-day routine,
Potatoes, cheese, and gravy
Yeah you guessed it – it’s Poutine!
My favourite place – that’s simple.
It’s quaint, little ol’ Gastown
And from our office, that’s even simpler
It’s just a couple of streets down!
Hussein:
The all-mighty givers of life,
The vast, still-standing beasts,
Those majestic things, oh what are they called,
Oh right – they’re just called trees.
They stand so tall, they look so stiff
Yet they dance amongst the breeze,
I’ll tell you a secret, my favourite tree
Is up in Northern BC!
Alyssa:
The best thing about Canada?
Don’t even have to think!
It’s Caesars that’s without a doubt!
And no not the dressing, but the drink!
A little town right on the island,
Is where I’d love to be
Tofino is where I’m thinking of
I’d bring my Caesars there with me!
Samantha:
No one’s mentioned Timmies?
I guess that’s what I’ll do!
An iced cap and some donuts,
I’ll have glazed, how ‘bout you?
A kid at heart, a lover of thrill
Don’t forget the cotton candy!
Playland, that amusement park,
Is where I go to feel most dandy!
Sarah:
Tired of hearing about Canadian food?
Don’t worry I have a remedy
My favourite thing about this nation
Is the variety and diversity!
Now for place, well this is hard
I’ve only been to 3 big places
I’d have to choose Victoria,
For its character and cute spaces!
